Poetry & Chick-Fil-A

Last week, The Elephants and The Honeybees were rewarded with Lunch in the Classroom, had a grand time learning about poetry elements as they explored the poems, and went to Chick-Fil-A for the school's fundraiser.

Studnets used their tickets to buy Lunch in the Classroom.

Lyrical Poetry has rhyme, meter, pattern of verse, and repetition!

Lyrical Poem: Supercalifragilistic from Mary Poppins

Pumpkin Exploring ~ 5 Senses!

Hello!

Your child is a poet
And I bet you didn't even know it

This week we have been studying Poetry!  Poetry creates *IMAGERY* using the 5 Senses.  First, we went out to The Habitat to explore our pumpkin and recorded what it smelled like, felt like, looked like, sounded like, and brainstormed taste through foods made from pumpkins.  Then, students turned their notes into rhyming poems.  Now, students are in the process of creating their final draft!
