First Day of School :-)

Good evening!  What a wonderful day!  I hope everyone had a great first day of school.  We had a lot of fun, and so I'm sure the kiddos are telling their families all about their day!  I enjoyed getting to know all the new third graders AND seeing all the fourth graders who were in third grade last year.

If you haven't already, parents, take a peak into your child's backpack to find a couple of goodies:

3rd Grade Survival Kit
(Idea discovered online)

The crayon is to color your day bright and cheerful.
The sticker is to remind you that this class sticks together and helps each other.
The eraser is to remind you that it's okay to make mistakes.
The pencil is for all the great writing and learning you will do in class.
The bookmark is for all the great books we will read this year.
The Life Saver is to let you know that you may always talk to us and ask for help.
The Starbust candy is to remind you that you are always a star in this class...and everyone shines in his/her own way.
The Smarties are because you will learn a lot every day!

We are looking forward to a great year,
:-) Ms. Lightfoot & Mrs. Green

All About Me Bag
I hope everyone enjoys the homework tonight.  Bring favorite items from home that tell a story about who you are!  Parents, I encourage you to help with this assignment.  You may see my items below.  Students, feel free to tell your families what you learned about me today.  I look forward to everyone's presentations of their bags. :-)  Have fun!

Have a great night and I look forward to seeing everyone again for the second day of school. :-)

  1. Hi Mrs. Lightfoot ,
We enjoyed hearing about Macie's first day, which included her new word capiche, Mrs. Green's pet peeves, and her things to go in her bag for sharing tomorrow. She is looking forward to a great year in 3rd grade!
